Standard DBS Checks

STANDARD DBS/CRB Checks are for employers and should be obtained for….…

People working in an NHS/Care or Education setting who have access to regular contact with Children and or Vulnerable Adults

Workforce Type = “Child and Adult Workforce”.
• e.g.: Porters, Caretakers, Catering Staff, Drivers, Cleaners, who work within Regulated premises, such as Schools or Hospitals.

Workforce Type = “Child Workforce”.
• e.g.: Caretakers, Catering Staff, Cleaners, who work within Regulated premises, such as Schools or Educational Establishments.

Workforce Type = “Adult Workforce”.
• e.g.: Caretakers, Catering Staff, Drivers, Cleaners, who work within Regulated premises, such as Care Homes/Sheltered Accommodation.

Workforce Type = “Other Workforce”.
• e.g.: Administration/Reception staff, Maintenance workers, Engineers, and all Trades persons who work within Regulated premises.

• People involved in the Legal Profession e.g.: barrister, solicitor, registered foreign lawyer, legal executive, receiver – Court of Protection, Judicial appointments.

• People working in the Security Industry, Traffic Wardens, Veterinary surgeons.

• Financial Services positions e.g: chartered accountant, certified accountant                                                                                                                                                (FCA Financial Conduct Authority previously called “FSA” and Prudential Regulation Authority; PRA)

**Any role that is eligible for an Enhanced level DBS, is also eligible to obtain a Standard level DBS check.
